How do I set a practice activity for my student to complete?

Practice activities are short tasks that you can assign to your students' accounts. Many tutors set homework using practice activities, as they're a great way to consolidate a student's learning. Each practice is adaptive, meaning the questions adjust in difficulty based on a student's ability. Once a student has completed a practice, you can review their score and their transcript from your Tutor Portal

How to set a practice

  1. Find the student you would like to set work for on your Dashboard page
  2. Click 'Set practice'
  3. Select the subject
  4. Select the topics/sub-topic you would like included (we recommend 1 sub-topic per practice)
  5. Enter the practice details
  6. 'Add to To-Do list'
  7. This work will now appear in your student's To-Do list on their 'Learn' page

Practice can also be set from the 'Set work' page

What are 'Test' and 'Tutor' mode?

Test Mode:

This will create a custom practice with test conditions. The help resources will be removed as well as answer explanations.  This setting can be used to familiarise students with test conditions.

Tutor Mode:

When this mode is selected the work will not contribute to the adaptive algorithm or the performance data. This mode should be selected if you plan on working through questions with your student.
