We’re improving how student Performance scores are calculated on Atom School. These updates will give you more insightful and up-to-date insights for each child.
What’s changing?
We've recently refreshed our datasets for your students’ Performance scores. Therefore, you may notice a slight change in some children’s scores on their pupil profile and your statistics page.
Following these changes, your students’ scores will be comparable against other children in the same year, and with the most up-to-date information possible, including specific information about the difficulty of each topic.
Previously, performance scores used a grading that was universal across all year groups. It was calculated in a way that showed progression throughout all of Key Stage 2 rather than within a year group. It also accounted for recently answered questions at a subtopic level, rather than taking an average of scores from all completed atoms.
The refreshed scoring means that you will see a student score for subjects and subtopics that reflects that child’s understanding even more accurately and specifically within the context of their year group.
