Why is my pupil seeing a padlock next to their homework?
Students without an activated Parent Account cannot access their homework outside the school hours of 8:30am -4pm
As Atom is an online platform, safeguarding and GDPR are our highest priorities. An activated parent account allows parents/guardians to oversee their child’s activity on the platform and is an essential part of our safeguarding provision.
🔒 Pupils will see a padlock next to their work outside of school hours if their parent account has not been activated.
You can quickly check whether a pupil’s parent account is active by:

- Selecting the Classes & Pupils tab on the left-hand side
- Selecting Manage Pupils
- Typing the pupil’s name into the search bar on the right
How Can You Support the Parent?
To activate their account, parents should follow the steps outlined below. Once activated, your pupil will be able to complete the work you have set. You are welcome to share this video. Hover over the video and click "copy link" from the top right.
You can also provide this downloadable PDF guide to parents, which will give them step by step instructions on how to activate their account.
If a parent has already activated their parent account and the lock is still appearing, please advise them to reset their password via this link and this should resolve it.
